Female: A year, let us see, there is 200 or 300 calories maybe in an eight ounce glass.
Female: Like one can has 180 if it is regular.
Male: I do not know. 100 calories a can.
Female: People might drink two glasses a day so that is 600 calories a day, let us say.
Female: My goodness.
Male: Like 30,000.
Female: So 600 times 100 would be 6,000.

Male: You said 37,000. Okay this is the fact. Giving up soda cuts a whopping 66,000 calories from your diet each year if you are a regular soda drinker. That is the total number of calories you should eat in a whole month. It is also the number of calories it takes to make 19 pounds of body fat. If you were to get a large popcorn at the theater, how many calories do you think that large popcorn has?
Female: Is that butter? Probably about 300 or 400.
Female: I would say maybe 500.
Male: 400.
Female: 700.
Male: 1500.

Male: A large movie theater popcorn has about 1160 calories but when you add that fake butter stuff, it goes up to 1640 calories. Now we are going to turn to another favorite. Cheese, how many pounds of cheese you think the average American eats in a year?
Female: Good question.
Female: Eight ounces a day probably.
Male: I would say 20,000.
Male: I have no idea.
Male: How much does a cheese stick weigh?
Female: So 8 ounces times let us see 300. Let us do it differently. Times a day that is seven so it is 56 ounces a week.
Female: We need a computer.
Female: Really.
Male: 10 pounds.
Female: Let us say that is 50, let us round it off to 50 ounces but then we have to get pounds like 50 pounds.
Female: I do not now. Like a slice of it, probably like an ounce.
Male: I would say you are probably right on. 60 pounds.
Male: I think you are on track there. The average American eats about a half a pound of cheese per week. It is a week. You said a day but a week so that is 30 pounds of cheese a year and most of it comes from toppings on pizza, sandwiches and hamburgers. That is three times as much as we ate 30 years ago and it makes cheese the leading cause of heart disease. So now, we switch to milk. If you switch from whole milk to skim milk, early in your life, how many pounds do you think you would save in a lifetime?
Male: 40.
Female: 20. That is hard.
Female: 50.

Male: I concur.
Male: Actually, for most Americans, the switch from whole to fat free milk will cut 400 pounds of fat and 1.5 million calories over your lifetime.
