Hi , My father been affected with HIV +ve and also he was suffering with a mild stroke recently. we may require to go for anigiogram. But could you please explain me whether doctors go for angiogram when the patient is having HIV????

Den: Hi I am Den from Manatee County. Can an Angiogram stop a Diverticular Hemorrhage? Matthew Sorrentiono: Well Den, an Angigram is really used for two major reasons. The first reason would be to diagnose a problem, and the second reason once a diagnosis is made, is to deliver therapy. For example, we do Angigrams all the time to find a blockage in an artery, and then we can deliver therapy into that artery such as a balloon or a stent to open up that artery. So an Angiogram can be done to diagnose a hemorrhage. Once we see a hemorrhaging artery, then therapy can be delivered into that artery to stop the hemorrhage. So an answer to your question, Den, yes, an Angiogram can be used on occasion to stop a Diverticula from bleeding.
