Host: What power do I have when the package arrives?
Will Maney: The only power we have, once the package gets delivered is, do I open it or not and actually if you think about that, I recognized the return address, I recognize that wrapping. Now that is further down the line. Sometimes, if it is a truck load, what we are going to do? So do I open the package, if I open the package, do not get too caught up in the wrapping.
But remember if I find it disagreeable, the only thing that I have in that moment is to change the meaning that I give to it and example would be. Oh, poor me, or I cannot believe it or I got passed over again or you like him because he has got perfect teeth—hey, stop.
That is the choice, the meaning that I choose to give happens so quickly. So I want to talk to some mechanism that says, I will give that meaning for you Willy, I will talk to them for you. I say, no, I am upset, I am going to go up there open the door and talk to them myself. Okay.
So we are trying to actually empower the capability that we all have within our mind within our psyche, of making true and formed choice, that is the thing that we care about to get back to that true sort of decision making capability that we have because we are on auto pilot and the older we get, I hate to say it buddy, you are young pup. We just cruise on auto pilot and the problem is when I come off the highway of 75, am I supposed to go through down town. Right?
So we have to realize, I have the power and the ability. No, I am going to change the meaning. It is the meaning that I give that holds the key and that is well within my realm of control.
