Ike Krieger: Hey Gerry! How are you? Sir, what are you doing?
Andrew Sokol: Well, I was listening to a success coach name Ike Krieger and he said to be successful at networking, I have to be interested in people. So, I’m being interested.
Ike Krieger: You know I don’t think that’s what he met.
Andrew Sokol: And how would you know? Hi! This is Andrew Sokol, International Business Consultant and Branding Strategies.
Ike Krieger: And I’m sells trainer, Ike Krieger, developer of the “Your open is your close sell system.”
Andrew Sokol: Ike and I are dedicated to making advance sells in marketing strategies available to small and mid-size business.

Andrew Sokol: This video is one way you can have access to the business secrets of the world’s most successful companies.
Ike Krieger: So, relax, enjoy and learn from these weeks 5 for 5 Video Tip.
Andrew Sokol Ike as you k now, we started with that particular Vinyet been yet because one of our 5 for 5 subscribers, Cindy asked a related question. She says, “What do I say to a prospect when I first meet them? And I know you talked a about first impressions so, I thought maybe you can help.”
Ike Krieger: Well, since the beginning of time, we’ve all been looking for the right thing to say to make a great first impression. We’ve been looking for the right things to where the right way to be because we all know that not only do first impressions count at first impressions lasts. So, I’d like you to think of making a great first impression in a whole different way and that is that making a great first impression has nothing to do with what you say.
Andrew Sokol: Okay, let me understand this. So, what I say has nothing to do with making a great first impression.
Ike Krieger: No. As a matter of fact, you know how you talk about backward marketing?
Andrew Sokol: Yeah, we talked it about last week.
Ike Krieger: I’d like you to think of this in terms of backward radio.
Andrew Sokol: Okay, that’s a new concept. Go ahead.
Ike Krieger: Imagine you’re sitting in your car. The radio is broadcasting and you’re sitting there receiving.
Andrew Sokol: Listening.
Ike Krieger: Okay, you’re listening.
Andrew Sokol: Right, okay.
Ike Krieger: Imagine at the other way around with you broadcasting and the radio receiving, you’re talking to the radio hoping that your message get’s through.
Andrew Sokol: That wouldn’t be very effective.
Ike Krieger: No. And it’s the way the system was design. So, what I’m suggesting is that the way most of this approach introducing ourselves or making there first contact is backwards and we are broadcasting rather than receiving where I believe that what the best way to look at it is to be interested rather than interesting.
Andrew Sokol: I see because if you’re interested, you’ll be listening, receiving more than talking and broadcasting.
Ike Krieger: Exactly.
Andrew Sokol: That’s interesting. Alright so, now tell me if I am a chamber mixer or an event of some kind, how do I actually apply this? What do I say? How does this work?
Ike Krieger: Well, you know this would probably be a really good action step for people to take on for this coming week.
Andrew Sokol: Great.
Ike Krieger: And that would be to say the following at least once at a networking event or when you come in contact with the new prospect, then it would go something like this. I made a promise with myself not to tell you anything about me until I learned everything about you.
Andrew Sokol: Wow! I like that. Say it again.
Ike Krieger: I promise myself not to tell you anything about me, until I learned everything about you.
Andrew Sokol: Wow! That’s great. I suddenly feel like you’re interested in me. But how much time did you got? Let me try that, let’s roll play this.
Ike Krieger: Let’s play roll, okay go ahead.
Andrew Sokol: Hi! My name is Andrew.
Ike Krieger: Hi! I’m Ike.
Andrew Sokol: Hi Ike! I have to tell you I’ve made a promise with myself not to tell you anything about me until I’ve learned everything about you.
Ike Krieger: Oh! That’s great.
Andrew Sokol: So, tell me what do you do?
Ike Krieger: That’s it, that’s all you to do.
Andrew Sokol: I like that. And you know what’s interesting. It takes all this pressure off of me. I don’t have to be entertaining or clever. All I have to do is listened.
Ike Krieger: Yeah!
Andrew Sokol: I like that.
Ike Krieger: And when you listen, people will think you’re interesting.
Andrew Sokol: You know it’s funny because I have had that happen in those conversations where I’ve done the most listening. People later have commented on how interesting I was to talk to. That’s very interesting concept. And we’ll have more interesting concepts in feature 5 for 5 Videos. So, remember to do your action step, do your homework and will see you next wee. I am Andrew Sokol.
Ike Krieger: And I’m Ike Krieger.
Andrew Sokol: Take Care.
Ike Krieger: Bye.
