There is a lot of information about vaccines on YouTube. There are a lot of people out there claiming to be experts. They tell you vaccines are not safe. In fact, they are extremely dangerous. Some tells you vaccines do not work and never work in the first place and that is how they tell you that vaccination is part of the government, big pharmaceutical and physician conspiracy to perpetuate disease in our children. For example, there is this guy, he is a chiropractor. He will be happy to sell you his DVDs online. There is this guy who told you that vaccination programs are a form of oppression and then there is this guy in December of 2007, the University of Toronto published the results of a study. The study scrutinized all the vaccine information on YouTube or at least most of it. The study examined the 153 videos regarding vaccines on YouTube. More than 50% were found to portray vaccines in a negative light. Forty-five percent contain messages completely in contrary to accepting information about vaccines.
They said, “Our study shows that the significant amount of immunization information on YouTube contradicts the best scientific evidence at large. One of the biggest problems with the information about vaccines on YouTube is that it is so one-sided. Often, when anti-vaccine videos show you data or information about vaccines, they are showing you a small part of a much larger picture. A favorite statement on the sites is that vaccines are responsible for the increasing rate of autism. This statement is based on the findings of Dr. Andrew Wakefields infamous study. When anti-vaccine advocates claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism, they are quoting the study.
Now, here is the part they do not tell you. Since the publication of Dr. Wakefields’ study, there have been a tremendous amount of studies conducted around the world by several different governments testing a possible connection between the MMR vaccine and autism. Altogether, the studies look at hundreds of thousands of children around the world. They all came to the same conclusion, the MMR vaccine is in no way cheaper form connected to autism. Anti-vaccine advocates make it seem as if this is still a living debate when in fact, this debate had been put to rest for years now. These days, Dr. Wakefield is facing charges for the date that he published in that article. Anti-vaccine advocates do not want you to know that instead they will show you a video of a child afflicted by the hormonal disease that autism is.
And tell you that poor child became autistic, days and weeks after receiving the MMR vaccine. A theme that repeats itself in all anti-vaccination channels is presenting graphical proof that vaccines never even work in the first place. They will show you graphs such as these showing the disease rates dropped off way before vaccination begin. Anti-vaccine channels will never show you these graphs showing disease drop off after vaccination began. In the future episode, I will show you how this is done. Something else you will frequently encounter in anti-vaccination channels is bleating misinformation about the diseases themselves.
Many diseases around the world including AIDS can be presented first with mild symptoms such as these. Anti-vaccine advocates like to show you these simple symptoms. They often leave out reminding you of the harsh complications that can result. Although not all these diseases are commonly fatal, many of them cause devastating outcomes. I believed the data on YouTube about vaccines tends to be very one-sided and very unfair. In upcoming episodes, we will clearly see how these data is very much manipulated. We will see that some claims are completely made up such as there is no autism in the Ammish communities where they do not vaccinate.
We will also review the nests of tymerasol, Aluminum and S340. As a reminder, I do not work for the pharmaceutical industry. I dispense this information because I truly believe that vaccines are safe and effective.
