Host: There is a term called ‘golfer's elbow’, what is that golfer's elbow? Is that a good golfer or a bad golfer?
Guest: Well it occurs in good golfers and bad golfers, especially the golfers that hit the ground, when they --
Host: You mean they miss the ball and they hit the -- they get a lousy shot and they dig the thing and they hit the ground, I can't take this anymore?
Guest: Tiger Woods is not going to get this, he hits the ball, but many of my friends hit the ground.
Host: But he is married, he can't get upset now?
Guest: So golfer’s elbow is opposite of Tennis elbow, Tennis elbow occurs on the outer side of the elbow when you extend the wrist and golfer’s elbow occurs from the median side the inner side of the elbow when you bend the wrist forwards because the flexion muscles are stressing on the bone.
Host: And the approach is what?
Guest: The approach is, again, the same the joint --
Host: Mobilizes.
Guest: It will get better with a cortisone injection or a therapy and I tell the patients to just take it easy for a few weeks; if it doesn't work, give them a cortisone injection and very few by the way require surgery, I would say 90-95% of the patients get better conservatively.
Host: It is very rare you do surgery in somebody?
Guest: Yeah, on the median side.
