What's Cooking - BBQ Corn

I love to watch people shop for corn. They put on quite a show as they strip off the husk and take a peek inside. Then they toss the cob back onto the pile, grab another one and go through the same ritual. I want to ask what they are looking for. Worms? Shriveled kernels? Other shoppers strip the husk and the silk off the corn right there in the store. It's such a problem at the grocery store where I frequently shop that they set up a big trash can next to the corn bin. I want to ask these shoppers if they've got a pot of water boiling on the stove at home so they can plunk the corn in as soon as they set foot in the kitchen. All these shoppers must think I'm the odd one because I gently squeeze the tip of the cobs to make sure they are filled out with plump kernels. Instead of peeling off the silks and husks, I check to make sure they still look moist and fresh. I rarely find a worm inside the husk and, if I do, I just snap off that end.
