My name is Steve Turano. Welcome to set up for body performance. A lot of people are writing in and asking about sleep and how it pertains to weight loss. Well remember this, sleeping doesn’t have any calories, and I have never heard anybody say, “You know Steve, I slept too much last week, I think I gained fat pounds from it,” just does not happen. But sleep is much more important as it pertains to recovery from our daily activities and from our workouts. You see, sleep is the time when the mind and the body recover. Without enough sleep, you are not going to be able from your workouts, you’re not going to come back stronger and therefore, if you do not feel like working out, you are probably not could be burning up enough calories, creating the necessary calorie deficit for weight loss. That might be the only reason you gain weight from not sleeping. But if you think that not sleeping is going to add calories to your body, you’re mistaken and you probably should be looking for a better excuse. Love your body.
