Ram Parvataneni: That's a really good question Sarah and the answer is that, it's easiest to get pregnant around the time the egg is released or ovulation. This usually happens about 10-14 days after the first day of your period or the middle of the month as you said. Timing sex around this time of ovulation really increases the chance of conceiving. To rely on this timing, however, to prevent pregnancy should really be done only in consultation with your doctor or clinician as it really requires careful counseling as to the exact timing and also the overall effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.
