When should you call an electrician? Here to answer that question is Aprile from About Town Electric. Now Aprile, electricity is a dangerous thing.
Aprile Chalmers: Very dangerous.
Meriel Bradley: When should you call an electrician?
Aprile Chalmers: If you have any electrical issues, power loss in your home, you are thinking of upgrading, circuits to the chips, uses that blow, anything from the chandelier installed to a whole home rewire.
Meriel Bradley: So you have licensed electricians, you’re a licensed contractor.
Aprile Chalmers: Right.
Meriel Bradley: What sets you apart from other electrical companies if you like?
Aprile Chalmers: Being a licensed contractor with the electrical safety authority is one. Our employees make us different. We strive for—to achieve a level of excellence in service that other contractors might not. We—our clients are number ones to us. We put our clients first and we are for the more red carpet treatment.
Meriel Bradley: What is a red carpet treatment?
Aprile Chalmers: It’s just that. We provide our customers like I said with the level of excellence in service. We place the red carpet on the floor to protect flooring and carpeting. We wear shoe covers in every home. We provide our customers with 12 point safety evaluations which is an assessment of the electrical system and panel before we begin the work at your, you know calling us in for and you get a copy of it inviting. Our employees make us different. We employ licensed electricians; clean cut, in full uniform, with identification that is our background check with the company vehicles stocked with thousands of partners.
Meriel Bradley: So thousands of parts? So—
Aprile Chalmers: On hand.
Meriel Bradley: They are on-hand so it’s not—you come and you do an assessment then you go away and I have to make another appointment for you to come back?
Aprile Chalmers: Right. Our client’s time is valuable and we understand that most companies provide an all day window time frame, we don’t do that. We schedule our calls in two hour windows and call our clients half hour before we arrive. We show up on time as scheduled, ready to do the work.
Meriel Bradley: That is great. For me customer service is key. I obviously want an amazing job but without that customer service being there, you know—is the job is amazing as you think it’s going to be. And I have to say, I know I‘ve called you and I love how you answer the phone. How do you answer the phone?
