i was made to go on the pill, i didn't even get a choice by my mum. We have a high teenage pregnancy rate where i live. funny thing is ive never had a boyfriend cause im a lesbian. so my chances of getting pregnent are very low :S

But there is really not a correct age to start using birth control, rather it's important to start discussing sex, and the risk of sex with your child at early age, especially, as soon as puberty would be a good time to start discussing it. The earlier you start to discuss sexual activity with your child, the better you will be in helping her make good decisions to protect herself against sexually transmitted diseases and the risks of pregnancy.
