Female Speaker: I never really had a problem getting enough protein in my diet. I usually get it from beans. I eat a lot of different kinds of beans, there is lots protein in that. Also green leafy vegetables, which is a great source of protein and soy products like tofu and veggie meats, things like that.
Female Speaker: I get my protein from nuts, from beans and rice, tofu, dairy products, whole grains and greens. I was a high school athlete and always had a variety of protein to choose from. I had never had problem with energy or strength. I still don't. I am athletic and I am still going strong.
Female Speaker: Protein is in everything. A lot of people don't know this, but everything has protein just different amounts of it. So following again the method of just eating with different groups and different colors on your plate, if you can eat a lot of different kinds of food, then you can actually get all the protein you really need.
Male Speaker: Well, I get my protein from all sorts of places. I can get it from nuts, legumes, whole grain bread, tofu, temp, greens. I have no problem getting protein on a daily bases.
Female Speaker: I don't worry about the protein. That's the common question that people ask me which is amazing, because I feel that we are let to believe that we need all this protein when in fact, it's interesting, because the best source of amino acids is in your green leafy vegetables and protein doesn't turn to protein in the body, amino acids turn the protein in the body. So I was always concerned about getting all these protein, but in fact, too much protein can actually be harmful and when I was briefly on a high protein diet, I didn't feel good. So now I feel great and I don't feel like I am protein deprived at all.
