Emily: Hi.
Ed: Hi, I’m Ed.
Emily: I’m Emily. Good to see you here.
Ed: Good seeing you.
Emily: I know there’s a million things to do in Bermuda but what I’m realizing is
that the quintessential Bermudan experience is the pink sands and of
course the gorgeous blue waters.
Ed: The water, ocean is fantastic. You can get out there with a mask and a
snorkel and a pair of fins just float around. You can see all the creatures
that you see if you were diving. You can see wrecks. There’s 75 to a 100
feet of visibility.
Emily: Wow that sounds so fun I can’t wait. Oh my gosh this is so beautiful out
here.
Ed: it’s a lovely area it’s a very nice snorkeling right over here. Its shallow
there’s a lot of nice coral. Hopefully we’ll see a lot of creatures.
Emily: What kind of creatures?
Ed: Well we might find a little eel peeking his nose out through the crevices or
you might find an octopus.
Emily: Wow, right so what do I need to do to prepare.
Ed: Okay you’re going to be sitting on the edge. I’ll hand you your fins okay
and I go handle your mask I will put a little mask I will put a little—
Emily: Dish liquid?
Ed: Yes.
Emily: And what’s that for.
Ed: What the dish soap does when you rub it around and what that does is
keep the mask from fogging out during the dive and we rub it around that
just before you put it on what you will do is put it in the water and rinse it
off very well and it will stay clear for you throughout the snorkel trip.
Emily: Great!
Ed: Okay I want you to take your mask and just what I’ve mentioned before
dip it in the water and rinse it very well, all that soap solution out of there.
Emily: Whoa!
And why is the water out here in Bermuda so blue?
Ed: Because it’s so clear and it’s the reflection of the sky.
Emily: And its warm pretty much all year round.
Ed: No, it gets cool in the winter. It will get in the high 50’s below 60’s.
Emily: That’s still warm.
Ed: But in summer it will get into the 80s.
Emily: Oh wow it’s like cool.
Female: Okay how was it?
Emily: Oh it was so much fun.
Female: Wonderful!
Emily: Oh I’m so glad I did it. I think I’m actually a water sports person, this is so
fun.
Female: Wonderful!
Emily: I’m going to go back and do some more.
Female: Alright here you go, you’ll need those.
Emily: Alright, thanks again.
Female: Have fun.
Emily: I have had such a fun day here in Bermuda with the sun and the snorkeling
and the boats but honestly my favorite part of this has been just that I feel
so peaceful and that’s because of the people here at Bermuda. They’re so
warm and friendly and inviting and that to me is the true Bermuda
experience.
