Katherine Power: And I’m Katherine Power, at WhoWhatWhereDaily.com we talk about belts all the time. A belt is one of those accessories that can instantly uneasily transform any outfit. You come to row one over simple and plain pieces and get instant style.

Hillary Kerr: Obviously you know how to belt your pants but some of you might need some inspiration when it comes to belting your sweaters, skirts and dresses. Today, we’re going to go beyond basic belts wearing but first let’s take a look at two of our favorite ladies and see how they change their ways.

Katherine Power: Here’s Ashley Olsen a designer at Jenni Kaynes LA store opening. She’s got a blend of the belt over her top from the row in Elizabeth and James’ Pants. Her sister Mary Kate chose the much wider belt to go over her dress that same night.

So now we’re going to grab a thick super century a versatile kiddy belt and some basics to create two looks for each one.

Take your old, shapeless dresses from seasons past and make them current again by adding a belt of any wet. Keep in mind you don’t always have to match your belt to your shoes. Sometimes an unlikely combination can liven up and otherwise boring canvass.

So for the first top that we took this full skirt from American apparel a plain white T and this long thin cardigan, we finished off the looked with this chain and pat letter belt by Vida and we pull the skirt up a little bit just so the belt will hang it with her two waist. For the second outfit we pick this Ivory loose leather dress and since your waist with a wide black belt by male.

Next we’re going to make a few minor outfit alterations and show you two more ways to wear these belts. So we’ve got all the same pieces we swap the cardigans and we have the girls trade belts. This time the thick black belt went over the skirt we pulled it up a little bit higher just on the huge cage.

For the second look we use the same chain belt turned and put it over the cardigan. Remember to pick a sweater and dress in a thin gab and there you have it four great looks from just two belts.
