Who What Wear: Meet the Parents

Katherine Power: Hello everyone and welcome to the Who What Wear fashion closet. I am Katherine Power. Hillary Kerr: And I am Hillary Kerr. We've recently received lots of emails from readers wondering what to wear when they meet their new significant other's parents for the first time. Katherine Power: In today's episode we'll address that tricky situation, but first let's take a look at a few parent appropriate outfits for our little inspiration. We found our first parent friendly outfit on model Chanel Iman. Iman were preppy shrunk in blazer over a classic black dress for a fashionable yet demure look. We also recently spotted fashion favorite Peaches Geldof in a great meet the folks outfit. She balanced her sweet dress with some modern opaque tights that still showed her personality with a chain headband and low ankle boots. Hillary Kerr: Much like a job interview. Now it's the time to stay away from low cut tops, short shirts and any shoes you would wear to a night club. Katherine Power: Regardless of the rules, make sure you stay true to your own style. If all goes well, they'll get to know you anyway, so don't try to look like someone you're not. First up we've Danny who is in this really feminine dress that hits just above the knee. It's a perfect length for something like this. Hillary Kerr: To balance her flirty dress we added a snug blazer and to show her fun personal style we gave her low heel pair of teal ankle booties and some fun gold chain necklaces. Katherine Power: Our next outfit is perfect for Stella who is a little bit more of a tom boy. You don't have to wear dress but it's a good idea to incorporate at least one feminine element into your look like the silk blouse. Hillary Kerr: As for the rest of her outfit we gave her a gray pair of jeans, which are slightly dressier than regular blue denim and this bright jacket to show off her fun fashion sense. To finish the look we've chosen mid heel pair of ankle booties in a slightly darker shade of gray. Katherine Power: Hopefully that provided you with a few guidelines and a little inspiration.
