Who What Wear: Runway to Realway: Gucci

Katherine Power: Hello and welcome to the WhoWhatWear fashion closet. We are your hosts, Katherine Power -- Hilary Kerr: -- and Hilary Kerr. And today we're going to take the Fall Runway collection from Gucci, one of our favorites, and translate it into two wearable looks. Katherine Power: Before we do that let's take a look at the photos of our Runway to Real Way inspiration. Female Speaker: Gucci's Fall collection was particularly strong this season, with its Russian gypsy meets glamors hippie vibe. We saw lots of over-the-knee boots, one of the season's key accessories, worn with skinny trousers and embroiderer blouses and vests. Many of the looks also showcased gorgeous gold coin necklaces and embellished belts with tassels. When channeling a Fall Runway collection, pay attention to the fabrics and textures used and start there. Then, add accessories that have a similar feeling. This collection is a great excuse to bring out your metallic details. Look for lurex scarves and belts with heavy metal studs and embellishments. Katherine Power: Gucci showed a ton of super slim dark pants, so that's what we started with. Then to embrace the interesting prints, we found this really cute paisley top that has a little bit of sheen to it. Hilary Kerr: Gucci also used a lot of velvet in their collection, so we gave her this great dark blue blazer, and then added some fringe by way of this fuschia bag, which we loved. Katherine Power: And to finish off the look, we gave her a vintage charm belt, which we layered over the black one with the gold hardware, and finally gave her a pair of ankle boots. Hillary Kerr: For our second look, we started out with the dark base and then combined two gold necklaces: a coin version from H&M, and this longer length one by Chan Luu. Katherine Power: We tied a scarf around her waist and gave her another necklace to wear as a belt. Then to finish off the look, we gave a pair of knee high black boots just like the ones on the Runway. Hillary Kerr: We hope that helped translate Gucci's Fall collection for you.
