Katherine Power: And I am Katherine Power. At WhoWhatWearDaily.com we are always trying to come up with ways to get the most out of our clothes. Especially during the transitional months between fashion seasons.
Hillary Kerr: If you want to wear your new spring clothes but the weather is not cooperating today's episode can help. We will show you a few great styling secrets that will help you make the most of your wardrobe.
Katherine Power: But first let's take a look at a couple of ladies who have mastered the art of transitional dressing.
Female Speaker: Vanessa Hudgens kept her brown and black cardigan in the mix as she made her way out of fall and into spring with a pale beige scarf and new bag.
Rachael Bilson shows another example of mixing seasons as she brings back her light weight jean jacket over her winter layers.
Katherine Power: We can't wait to start wearing our light warm weather dresses like this one from Zimmerman, but the weather is still really chilly. So, we are going to create two different outfits based on this dress that will take you from January to June.
Until it warms up, keep wearing your dark contrasting tights and plenty of layers over your new spring item.
Hillary Kerr: Sometimes updating your winter wardrobe is as simple as bringing in the new spring colors. Instead of picking accessories in basic black or gray choose colors that are unique to the season.
Katherine Power: Since the dress we chose is pretty bare, we started off by adding a pair of gray woolly tights and everyone's favorite little warmer jacket. Until the weather warms up, you can get the feeling of spring by bringing in bright pops of color through accessories. That's why we went with this mustard colored scarf and these purple satin heels.
Hillary Kerr: Our second look incorporates a few more great spring trends and will take you into the warmer weather. Again, the base for this look is the gray Zimmerman dress but this time we added a key accessory, the brown leather belt.
Katherine Power: Gladiator sandals have been big for several seasons now and they are still going strong. So, we found this beautiful pair by Dolce Vita. We also wanted to bring in the neutral color palette that's so big this spring, so we found this Cropped Trench from the Gap to finish off the look.
