Hillary Kerr: Hi Everyone! Welcome to the WhoWhatWear fashion closet.
Katherine Power: We are your hosts, I am Katherine Power.
Hillary Kerr: And I am Hillary Kerr. And today we're going to show you two of our favorite skirt styles for fall. We saw these two shapes all over the runways and now we are seeing them on some of our favorite stylish celebrities.
Female Speaker: One of the must have shapes this season is the classic pencil skirt. Lanvin showed this skirt with a tucked in blouse and statement necklace, while Michael Kors paired the pencil skirt with a snug cardigan for a ladylike look.
Our other favorite look this season is the full short skater skirt. At DKNY we saw a gorgeous gold version, worn with opaque tights and a chunky knit sweater. We also love the simple charcoal version shown at BCBGMAXAZRIA.
Katherine Power: Every women needs a classic black pencil skirt in her wardrobe. You don't have to spend a lot of money on the skirt as long as you budget in a trip to the tailor to make sure the fit is perfect.
A full skirt will work on a variety of body types, as long as you take into consideration your proportions. For this style, choose a skirt that's about two to three inches longer than your fingertips, when your arms are down at your side.
Since the black pencil skirt is really sleek and simple, we tucked in this cashmere turtleneck sweater to give the outfit a little bit of texture.
Hillary Kerr: This is also the perfect time to wear your wide waist belt, and a pair of sky-high sexy pumps.
Katherine Power: This second skirt is personally my favorite. We've paired it with a bow tie blouse, but it would look just as great with the body conscious tank or even a turtleneck.
Hillary Kerr: We also gave her a belt with a few studs, just to toughen up the two pieces, and make the overall look more modern.
Katherine Power: As always, thanks for watching WhoWhatWear TV.
