Hillary Kerr: Welcome to WhoWhatWear fashion closet, I am Hillary Kerr.
Katherine Power: I am Katherine Power. Today, we are going to take a break from our normal fashion related content to address a different sort of style situation. What to do with your hair in the warmer spring and summer months?
Hillary Kerr: We will show you a new take on a traditional hair style that will help you stay chic even when it's sweltering out. But before break up the bobby pins, take a look at the Hollywood heads that inspired today's episode.
Hillary Kerr: Braids are classic hairstyle, but recently we have noticed that some of the most fashion forward young celebrities have embraced what we called the milkmaid braid. Another variation of this look is it tousled half up/half down version of this notable style.
Katherine Power: Celebrities hairstylist Kristoff Ball has been kind enough to stop by and walk us all through achieving this modern milkmaid style. So how do we start this look today?
Kristoff Ball: Now I am going to start with two ponytail, just splitting them down the middle, keep it behind the ears. I like to finish any ponytail with a finish -- pop out just down a piece of hair and wrap it around that rubber band or whatever you have wrapped in it.
Next we are going to put in the braids, thick braids, not too thin, not too tight. You get it too tight, you won't be able to see it top of the head. Once I have the braids, I go from the right side and pull it to the left side to left ear and when I get to the left side, I pull it to the right. I am using a braids to hide the other braids, just tuck them underneath and pulling it over the top. Put the pin in, there you go.
Hillary Kerr: Next, he demonstrated the half up version of the same look.
Kristoff Ball: I am going to start it off by just taking a kind of a thicker piece of hair on side, I am just making a braid out of it, very loose braid. I am going to match the other side. Do exact same thing with the other side. Now I am going to pull it over same as I did the other. Left side, do the exact same thing. You can pin at the top of the head anywhere you want. Now I am twisting the hair over the ends, tighten it.
In the back, her hair is already messy. So all I am going to do is just create some high in the back, some more messiness, more avant-garde. It's about it.
Hillary Kerr: Thank you Kristoff and thank you for watching WhoWhatWear TV.
