Hillary Kerr: Hello and welcome to the WhoWhatWear fashion closet.
Katherine Power: At whowhatweardaily.com we bring at least one celebrity fashion trend per week, but we definitely don't expect our readers to put them all in one outfit. Too many trends going on at once is the definition of a fashion victim.
Hillary Kerr: The same holds through for runway collections as well. Nobody expects you to wear the complete head to toe look, but you can, and should, look to your favorite designers for inspiration.
Female Speaker: Burberry's Fall 2007 Collection showed some of the season's biggest themes and trends, like military inspired coats, and two of its most significant accessories: gloves and belts.
The color palette was limited to shades of gray, brown, black, and green, but there were lots of different fabric textures to keep things interesting.
Collection was all about contrasting tough elements against softer ones. We saw masculine pieces, like studded jackets and industrial style gloves, paired with feminine short skirts and high platform heels.
Katherine Power: Now, with those runway images in mind, let's have a look in the closet and see if we can't come up with something similar.
Don't be afraid to try new things with your belts. They are not just for skirts and pants, you can be belting your sweaters, jackets, and dresses also.
Hillary Kerr: Runway themes come and go, so don't spend all your money at one place. Invest in key items, like coats and shoes, that you know you can wear with other things. Then, fill in the rest of the outfit with of-the-moment, inexpensive items.
Katherine Power: The look at Burberry was very covered, basically the only skin you saw were the faces of the model. So that said, we needed a lot of layers to create this look. We took a basic black turtleneck dress, some opaque tights, and these peep toe patent leather Givenchy pumps.
Every outfit in the show also included a pair of these full length gloves. They are perfect if you are wearing a jacket with three quarter sleeves, that will keep the rest of your arms warm.
Hillary Kerr: In keeping with runway colors, we picked this green sweater, also from H&M, and a gray patent leather belt from Club Monaco.
Katherine Power: And to finish it off, this great quilted jacket by Vince, that's available on shopbop.com.
Hillary Kerr: Well, there you have it, I think the overall effect is very Burberry, without being an exact copy. Remember, you should always make the look your own.
Katherine Power: Thanks for watching WhoWhatWear TV. For more celebrity and fashion coverage, log onto whowhatweardaily.com.
