Alright folks, this is video number 70 in a selection I am doing entitled why does a DJ use. In this one, we are going to be looking the slip on the search buttons on a CDJ tabletop CD player. Skip function, okay we can see what on track 1 by pressing the button once, we move forward one track. What will happen is the CDJ would not play the song, it will just clear it gear it up, ready for you to press play then if you press again, we go to the tracks now depending because on how many tracks that is on the CD and of course depended on how far this particular member will go up. On the other hand, though, if we keep our finger on the button, it will slip through the tracks _. Well the opposite case of the other button at the moment on track 10, if I press once, we go into track 9, once again we go on to track 8. If I keep my finger on the button, it will slip through that quickly. Now with regards, the search button to search is almost like a music fast forward now that as you can see in your own course, now let us just imagine now a DJ wanted to go say, third or a quarter of away through this track but without imagining there what we are doing. We are going to listen to the song but just imagine that the sound you are going to be hearing is the actual sound a DJ would be hearing through his headphones so we press the search button, what happens now, it was skipping through the track. Now basically, the longer you keep your finger on the search button, is depended on how quick you will go through the track if you keep your finger on the search button for a few seconds, you may only go through say ten seconds through the actual track. If you keep your finger on the search button for a long time, you will slip through the track quite quickly. Now the opposite applies, if you press the button, you actually go reversed to the track. It is almost like a rewind. Like so, now then it is slightly different but quite similar. Let us press play. By pressing the search button, we will skip into the track but the difference is when you press play and the music is actually playing, when you press the actual search button, the music will carry on playing so I will show you a demo, press play. When press the search it goes forward, the search and the music will still play. Now the opposite applies if we press the search for the other buttons, the music will start to go backwards or rewind and then we take our finger off the search and then the music will go forward again. Again, the difference being, press pause, press the search, the music will play, go forward but press of the actual button is on pause as since we take the finger off the search button, you cannot hear anything at all because we are still in pause mode. Then if we pressed he other button, the music will rewind. As soon as we take our finger off the button, the music has stopped again because we are on pause. I hope that has been a help. And that is why a DJ will use a slip in the search functions. Skip is basically to go through the tracks. The search is for the DJ to find which particular position he wants the CD to actually be in to get it ready to start on the mix. Thanks for watching, practice and enjoy.
