I am Steve Turano, welcome to this episode the Body Performance. I have always seen to be harping on exercising with intensity and especially lifting weight to with intensity. Why am I doing this, might try to turn you into a muscle bound beach guy? No, I am not. Lifting with intensity serves a couple of purposes number one, on it, burns calories. But most importantly it does two things. We are trying to turn back the hands of time. We are trying to recreate the emasculatory you had when you were 20 or 25 because as we age we loose a lot of muscle and as we loose muscle, we loose the ability to burn and consume calories and we loose the ability to perform as well as we impossible it can.
So by lifting weights with intensity we regain that loss muscle. We also are trying to change the biochemistry of your body. This is why we lift weights with intensity and we do aerobics with intensity. See by changing the biochemistry of your muscles this allows your body to consume fat as an energy source versus carbohydrates and proteins. And that is what we want when somebody who is in great shape is sitting and chit and chatting with you, are they bring more calories than you? Maybe, maybe not but what they are doing is burning a larger percentage of fat calories and then when they get up and exercise their body begins to burn a lot of calories instantly because the biochemistry is different.
Why is this? How is this? It is because they have exercise with tremendous intensity. Therefore allows there body to utilize fats as an energy source and allows their bodies to instantly begin to burn calories. So this is why I want people exercising with intensity. Whether is cardio or weight lifting so we can change the vital chemistry of the body? We could turn back the hands of time to when you were 20 or 25. Love your body. I will see you next time.
