Why Visit Florence

Jonathan: Welcome to watchmojo.com, I'm Jonathan and we’re going to be talking a look at Florence, Italy. The city of Florence has more cathedrals per capita than any other city in the world. This, coupled with its Roman architecture and its unique atmosphere make it my opinion where are the most romantic cities in the world. The city of Florence was found by Julius Caesar in the ancient roman times as a link between Rome and France. Florentine Bankers are actually one of the first to issue monetary bills and some of those banks still exists today and are functioning in the exact same locations they did back then. Florence has a very rich history in art and sculpture. Now this is due to Leonardo Da Vinci, Michael Angelo, Donetello and Rafael that’s right, the Ninja Turtles are from Florence. Because Florence is home to Leonardo Da Vinci, it’s also home to the world famous sculpture David. It’s located at the academy which in its own is a world famous museum. Be sure to check out the Piazza De La Republica which is home to many cafés and restaurants. Also worth a look are Brunelleschi’s Dome and Ponte Vecchio. I recommend Florence over Rome if only the reason that it hasn’t popped out to tourism. Well at least on face value.
