Home to many national landmarks, it comes to no surprise that Washington is a major tourist attraction.
Hey! Welcome to WatchMojo.com. I’m your host Christine. And today, I will be showing with you the top five places to visit.
Number one, The White House. The White House has been home to every US President except for George Washington. Tourist at the White House can include at least ten people and they are scheduled approximately one month before the tour date.
Number two, Chinatown. Chinatown is a small historic neighborhood which consists of about 20 Asian restaurants and some small businesses. The Friendship Arch marks the site at H and 7th Street. The annual Chinese New Year Festival and parade is held there too.
Number three, the National Gallery of Art. Here, visitors can view European and American paintings, sculptures and works on paper. The National Gallery of Arts includes a sculpture garden and a fountain is at the center of the garden but it serves as an ice rink in the winter.
Number four, the National World War II Memorial. This national memorial honors the 16 million who served during World War II and those who supported the war effort with bronze sculpture panels.
Number five, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial. Located along the famous Cherry Tree Walk, this is a memorial to Roosevelt and the era of the great depression. There is a statue with him seated in a wheelchair which resembles the one he had used.
