Henry Hasson: You for your child had a flu. We don’t know that we don’t give certain medication during out the flu. First of all, with a young child, cough syrups are contradicted by the American Academy of Pediatrics up to the age of six so they’re not going to really help you. Fever reducing agents, the idea of bringing down the fever in my eyes is basically make the kid more comfortable, is that true?
Host: Yes, for sure. People often ask how question ask me what giving calpol and amoxicillin and other medications to try to bring down fever, actually a matter of making your child comfortable, for example, I will then wake up a child and giving a toddle for bring that fever down, that’ll probably be perfect.
Henry Hasson: And the purpose of the fever, I was start many years ago, it hasn’t changed, the fever actually is your immune system flight the infection, many of these infections can not live at a 100 so. Am I thinking correctly or I thinking wrong?
Host: I don’t know for sure. We don’t have a complete picture of exactly why and what is introducing the fever but it seems to be an inflammatory action and cerrain chemicals are produced that bring on the fever and it’s part of human process, of course, sometimes a high fever can trigger a problem in some children such as serious infect but that tell you around and what it does usually not being your.
Henry Hasson: There is one drug people should be aware of, Aspirin, there was great concern several years ago that Aspirin trigging out a very rare condition called Reye's Syndrome. And most doctors will tell you, a child especially should not give Aspirin, since we stopped using the Aspirin. I don’t think it’s coincidental, we haven’t happened to see any cases, is that correct?
Host: Yeah, they are all controversial evident and research regarding that but when we have -- it seems to be a much safer medication, it just makes no sense to give Aspirin to a child, which -- there is that risk where you can give out that’s available.
Henry Hasson: So in other words, if a kid is sick, plenty of fluids, keep the kid comfortable, most medications aren’t going to really change it. If you are in a position to get vaccine as we both agree, these vaccines are safe it’s a wise thing to do. This particular – and this unfortunately seem to be chalking most of the time people under 21 have the hospitalizations along the 21, so we would try to at least get the kids out so they did so we can at least have a source not to get it to bring it to all the other people. Will that be a wise way of approaching this problem?
Host: Yeah, for sure. Prevention is always depends the best medicine.
