Hi, this is Francisco Vijan from vitalcoaching.com. We are talking about staying fit and our topic for this video is why raw is good. Well we are talking about eating raw strategies nutrition strategies and what I want to tell you here is a little bit more about eating raw food and why it is good for you, why it is good for your body, why it lives your boost of your energy.
When you eat food when you process it most of the time, you lose a very big part of nutrients, which are content in the original product. For instance if you take you know banana or fruit or vegetable every time you actually eat, heat it you will lose maybe 50%, 60% of the qualities that make these fruits good for you to eat, okay.
So, the key here is not to heat the vegetable or the fruit it is not to processed it, to take it as exactly as it is to used it in its original state so that life force content that you have in this product is still preserved when you take it into your body. And this by itself is one of the top strategies, the top nutrition strategy that you can start applying straight a way in your life if you feel that your diet is unhealthy. It is simply eating more raw, lots more.
Right now in my diet I think I am at probably 80% of raw food and the only reason why I am not at 100% is because I live with somebody and we share meals and sometimes I am not the one cooking in I do not want to be fanatic and make it hard on this other person.
So, I eat you know cooked meals as well it is nice I still enjoy them but if I had the choice or with by myself I probably shift my diet to probably 95% raw food. Every now in then there is a little meet of you know tiny little bit processed food, for instance, I eat some yogurt or I will have you know, something which is like olive oil or you know, all the problems which we check in a little bit meat processed. But most of it, probably 95% stays raw it means that I would take fruit and mix it in a within shakes you know really break it down or have food that is nice and I will take vegetables you know cut them in very, very small and have lots of salad with that.
It is a very frequent for me to have a salad for lunch and a salad for dinner and breakfast motivate on food on a whole flower you know, in this kind of clean that I already showed you earlier.
Now, it is very much possible to do it, the only reason why people do not eat raw is simply because of the habit because we were born within a certain context in the Western world or in the Eastern world where you live where we are using to cook our meals. And very often for a hygiene reasons people cook you know, for instance in a third world countries you will have to cook your meals so that you, the ingredients that you used are clear from bacteria in the world other you know worm sort whatever you might have which would be negative or bad full for your body. But, the habit itself of cooking is something that we learn from a long time ago and it is not really that much needed anymore. Honestly, one day I realize that why do I to you know cook these vegetables? It is not needed, most of the vegetables that we use you know including cabbage or even broccoli I mean you take it nutritionally okay you know if you do not want 100% through you can steam it trying to be it is going to be crunchy but it really nice.
You know the same with you know with carrots with most of the vegetables that we use they do not need to be cooked, tomato do not need to be cook. So, if you eat them raw you gain much great the benefit from this nutrient and what happens when you do that, what happens when you actually get more nutrients from the food you eat. It means that you will need to eat less, your body saturates or it stops sending you hunger signals as soon as it reaches it is point of satisfaction on the nutrients, make a nutrients level.
So, when you do not give your body what it needs it keeps on sending hunger signals. So, if the micro-nutrients have been broken down by heating over heating eventually you do not get everything that you need in your body and need to eat twice as much.
