[Music Playing]
A few weeks ago, I bought a Datel Wi Fi Max adapter in order to bring my PSP, DS and (when I can find one)Wii online. Installing the adapter should have been as simple as loading the drivers and connecting it but it was not. It was absolute hell. I decided to make this video to spare everybody the pain of trying to get this thing installed. Alright let us get to it.
First of all, put the disk in your CD/DVD drive but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT run the set up program. Exit out of it and click on “My Computer.” Then right click on the drive that you have the disk in and click “Explore.”
Afterwards, click on the folder entitled “Zydas2,” then click on the folder named “Old Version.” Extract the ZIP named “Old Zydas_v1_2” to anywhere on your computer and run the Setup executable.
If Windows gives you warning about “Unsigned drivers,” click “Continue aAnyway.” After the installation is complete, if Windows ask you to restart your computer, then do so. Now, after you have rebooted your computer, connect the adapter. If it has not already, a “ZD” icon will appear in your task bar.
Click on that Icon and change the Mode to “Access Point.” After that, click on “More Settings” and under “Bridge Adapter” click on whatever you use to access the internet. This maybe a USB modem or a Network Interface Card. They WILL NOT be named like that, however.
Exit out of the ZD configurator but leave it in your taskbar, then restart your computer. Afterwards, Windows may say that the wireless dongle is “Disconnected” or has “Limited or no Connectivity.” Disregard this. What I want you to do is to go back and Explore the disk like we did before.
Now, click on the “PSP” folder and run the set up executable located within it. It will apply its own settings to the driver. What you need to do, however, is make sure the settings you applied earlier are still the way you left them. (This includes the Access Point and Bridge settings.) If they have been changed, CHANGE THEM BACK!
Now, restart your computer. After the computer reboots and the ZD icon appears, try to connect to the adapter using the PSP.
Congrats, it SHOULD have worked. Now, to get rid of those annoying Windows warnings, open your Network Connections and right click on the Wireless Network, then click on “Properties.” Uncheck the two boxes at the bottom and click “OK.”
As long as the “ZD” icon is in your taskbar, you will be able to connect using the PSP, no matter if Windows says that it is “Disconnected.” I hope you found this video useful, now enjoy the Mayhem and your new Wi Fi.
