Now, I will show how to use video effects and transitions. Effects affect a single clip while transitions bridge between two clips. If I want to use an effect, I simply click on the collection bend, choose my effect, I am going to use blur, drag it and drop it onto a clip.
Now, when I play it back, I have got blurriness. If I wanted to add multiple effects to a single clip, I can do that, I can also add a single effect multiple times to really exaggerate the effect.
Now if I add too many effects to a single clip, I may experience judder or slow playback or the video might not even playback at all. That is because effects take a lot of processing power to render.
Now, when you export your final video, you do not to worry, the computer will handle all of the rendering. So, if I want to use a transition, I simply click on the transitions bend, choose my transition, I am going to use checkerboard, drag at and drop it in between two clips.
Now I can watch my transition. If I decide I do not like the transition, I can, on this bar in the middle here, right click on the transition and choose delete.
One last little tip, is if you write click of a clip, you can quickly add fade in or fade out to black. It is kind of a handy little effect and now you are ready for the next section.
