The first step is importing your media into Windows Movie Maker.
If you shot your footage on a digital camera, then you will need to connect your camera into your computer. Probably in much the same way you would connect it to download photos.
So, once you have connected your camera and powered it up, choose file, import into collections and you are going to browse your camera. It is a lot like using a USB sound drive.
I am going to click on my computer and my camera is called SD20. There are a couple of files in here, yours may actually have a different name depending on the model of the camera.
I choose DCIM, 110 Canon and now I can see a couple of video files. IF you are not able to find the video files, your camera may actually be shooting in a non Windows compatible format.
If you have this problem, please see below. There is information on how to transcode your video. If you want, you can click and highlight as many videos as you want.
I am just going to choose one and then press import and it is going to do some transferring and now I have got the video clip in my clip’s collections and I am ready to move on to the next step.
