Jason: Hey everybody it’s Jason here from the McInTec community and tonight we’re going to be doing a podcast about Windows Vista and basically our thoughts on Windows Vista. It’s not just me tonight I have two community members that are active members in our community Andrew and Condulio that are here and they’re going to share some of what they think about Windows Vista because they’ve actually experienced Windows Vista just like I’ve experienced Windows Vista.
In my opinion, if you want my opinion I actually enjoyed Windows Vista very much, it works very well for me. I don’t have any issue on my desktop nor my laptop so I just have to say like I’m a complete Windows fan boy. If you don’t know me very well, now you do. I love Windows. I have Windows running on my server, Windows everywhere. So what I’m going to do right now is Andrew is going to talk about his experience with Windows Vista and I believe he ran his on his Mac in the VM so Andrew, take it away.
Andrew: Actually I didn’t run it in the Virtual Machine I ran it natively with Bootcamp and I had actually installed it and it was long time ago but well like it was a little while after I actually after I've got the MacBook for Christmas. I had installed Windows Vista because I was able to get the CD and it was a business CD and then actually I have a key but I will brand sold it and actually brand very well, all I have to do is put in this CD if you could see my stream or not, this CD, it’s the Micro—and it had the software, the drivers for the Apple hardware such as the iTech camera and the touch pad and the Bluetooth thing. They mailed that work and most people who say that the Windows Vista sucks really don’t even know what the real problem is. The problem with Windows Vista is actually the hardware that they’re using for it. To run Windows Vista., you have to have really nice hardware which is part of the reason my Mac cost so much because the hardware is really nice and actually if I—about this Mac, it actually says that I have two gigahertz in the Core2 Duo which is perfect for Vista and 2 gigabytes of RAM is just about enough.
Well it’s enough for it for it to run pretty well but 4 gigabytes is also very good. I think that’s about it. I think now I can hand it over to Condulio if he’s ready.
Condulio: Yeah I am ready. I have experienced Vista. I have tried it many different times on different hardware situations such as I have tried it on the Celeron D 3.2 gigahertz and it runs—Vista RTM it didn’t run too great. My best experience with Vista software was Vista Business on the Intel Pentium D 3 gigahertz. One of my favorite things about Vista is some of the conveniences that you just don’t get in XP by default such as the Start Menu search and I don’t really see it use sidebar, I think it is great for a certain things and really it’s better than XP. Only a few instances I've had would be my ATI drivers conflicting with Flash on Vista and a couple other things which I have not yet explained. Well yeah, I’ll just hand it back to Jason now.
Jason: Thanks guys for sharing your experience. In order to actually be able to know Vista honestly, you have to experience it for yourself. There’s a lot of stuff going around the internet with blogs and forums and stuff where people saying they have an issue with this, issues with that in Vista, this doesn’t work in that. Other people end up tagging along saying, yeah Windows Vista sucks I don’t like it whenever because you're going along with it. Honestly, try it then you know, look what you think, like maybe you’ll try it and realize, oh that person was wrong, it works for this, it works for that. A lot of latest hardware, my computers are designed for it because I bought them—I bought this one computer last year and then my laptop was at Christmas. So I have created my desktop to run it and it runs fine, there’s no issue at all. You know, I really like it and it runs really fast especially in classic mode. I use classic mode. It just flies. I’m not really—even with XP, I wasn’t really a big you know the Luna theme or the Aero theme.
So anyway, yeah that’s what I wanted to do, was like you know like you guys here it from a few of our community members, not just me so you know, you have their opinion too. You can always stop by our live page at live.McInTec.net, we have four live feeds that go and we try and keep different people streaming on it all the time and keep entertaining people like on it. Come check it out it’s a lot of fun. I also like to thank UStream which makes this possible, have their little logo up there too. Awesome job, Ustream is probably one of the best networks ever. The only one I would actually ever stream on. It’s really awesome, you can stop by our chat room we are on AceIRC, the official McInTec chat room is on AceIRC, irc.aceirc.org. We also have the chat on live.McIntech.net where you can come in. Be a part of your community. You can be in our podcast. Tell us what you think, email us questions at McInTec.net and let us know what you think of the show, you know our podcasts, you can even be a part of it, completely a part of your community and stuff. We don’t hold back. Come be a part, have fun and stuff. So, thanks Condulio and Andrew for being part of our podcast tonight and hope everybody out has enjoyed the podcast and we’ll chat at you later.
