Do you have any computer or technology questions? Feel free to ask them at ClearTechInfo.com. Remember the only super question is a question you don’t ask.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to add, delete and modify desktop icons. As you could see on my desktop I currently have no icons. To add the Windows Vista System icon you just right click anywhere on the desktop, go to personalize, click here on the top, change desktop icons and choose the icons you want to place on the desktop. I just select every single one for this example.
Hit apply, click okay, exit. As you can see all these icons are added to the desktop. Something I do quite often when I’m going to tab into empty the recycle bin so I right click it. Instead of choosing empty recycle bin like I should, I accidentally hit delete and click yes thinking it’s going to empty the recycle bin but it doesn’t. It just deletes the icon from the desktop. You could quickly begin it back by just right clicking anyone to desktop again, personalize, change desktop icons and reedit.
I’ve added a few more icons to the desktop. In case you have your whole desktop cluttered you just want to get rid of them temporarily, right click anywhere on the desktop, add view, uncheck show desktop icons. So now they all disappear temporarily. If you like to regain them back right click anywhere on the desktop, view, show desktop icons. There are other options, view, make them a little bit larger. Make them really big, you see how they are all scattered. You could easily sort them.
Right clicking again, sort by, choose name, size, type, date modify. I’ll choose name, see they’re automatically sorted. Another thing you could do with the icons is how to automatically sort when something is added to the desktop. Let me give me an example, right click the desktop, click auto arrange. Some sort of grab it and then place it anywhere, here he gets all messy if you just drag any icon, any new one or when the sortie is on there and drag it anywhere else in the desktop. It will automatically get turn in with the bunch and sort it.
If you uncheck it, grab anything in and put it somewhere else. It will stay there. That’s another option. Since we’re on the desktop, I’ll show you quickly how to make a folder on the desktop, right click, choose folder, name it whatever you want. Grab step and throw in there, open it up. I’ll show you again, right click the desktop, go down to new folder, type in the name that you want, and then enter. You could open, dump anything you want in there, close it up.
Something you could also do is right click the desktop, click new and choose any file you want by creating a new Microsoft office Word Document, select that and it creates a new document. Type in whatever name you want, enter, double click it and it opens it up. For more tutorials, tips, tricks and advice on computers and technology, go to ClearTechInfo.com
