A woman was arrested near Chicago for allegedly bringing her 5-year-old-son along on a bank robbery. The Chicago Sun-Times broke the story - and has what police say she and her boyfriend allegedly did.
“[Lauri] Ruble allegedly told the FBI that … [her boyfriend] grabbed a bandana and butcher knife from her kitchen and they both left her home with her son to rob the bank. She put her son in a car seat and they drove to the bank...”
Police say the couple got away with almost 5,000 in cash but a day later - The Sun Times reports an informant seeking a reward turned the couple in. But the Daily Mail reports the woman is now out of jail and reportedly feels bad.
“Ruble, who was released on $5,000 bail on Thursday, told the FBI that she regretted putting her son in danger.”
Believe it or not -- it’s not the first time a child’s allegedly been brought along on a robbery. WHBQ reports...
“In 2007, Lyndsey Tucker was charged with robbing a Lake in the Hills bank with a knife while her 4-year-old daughter sat in the SUV she was driving. Tucker was sentenced to 53 months in prison.”
As for her 5-year-old son... The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect against the couple.
