Hi! I am Valerie Rippetoe with Marsha's Wardrobe Consulting. I am showing you how you update your spring wardrobe. Our first look is the Safari look. The safari looks comes back time and time again. We have a model here, her name is Pam, and Pam is wearing a very sleek, sophisticated safari look. She has a great jacket on; it's in the color chestnut. Usually the safari look is in neutrals, and this is a real rich color. This jacket is all about the detail. The gold buttons, the waist emphasis, which is wonderful on Pam because she has an hourglass shape and it shows off the curves that she has.
The detail at the sleeve three-quarter sleeves, you are going to see a lot of that in the spring marketplace. What Pam also has, another must-have piece, it's the pencil skirt. And ladies you can go to your closet and take existing skirts that you have and I promise you, you will take 10 pounds off by tapering them down. So that's what we have done with this skirt. It has a very tapered look.
Another fun thing for spring are shoes and Pam has a great pair of pumps on. It's the Ombré effect in color. So it goes from brown and gradually goes back to almost a chestnut color like her suit.
Another way we can take this same suit, and especially the jacket, is to put a belt with it and this season it's all about belts. So this actually has a bamboo buckle and then it has animal print as the trim. The jacket actually that Pam has on is a high-waisted, it's a little more of the empire effect. So the belt is going to be up on her waistline like that and you could take jacket that you own and just update on immediately by putting a belt with them.
Another way we can wear this look is with the white look, and we will take a look at that in a second. With pairing the jacket now with that white we have a column of white underneath the white silk shawl, we have a pair of white jeans and then we accent it the waist of the white jeans with the chain belt. The chain belt has bamboo on it which lends itself great to the safari look. This is just makes the jacket a fun summer time look.
I have one more safari look to show which tends to be a little more classic. It's typically the color that safari jackets come in. This one is a coffee bean. We have a beige shirt underneath of it, like a camp shirt style. Wee have a great tribal necklace with this and its' paired with its matching skirt and what I did is it does come with it's own self belt but I took the self belt off and it just made the jacket a little mature looking by putting a chocolate swede belt with it which has bamboo trim on it.
So that's how to update your wardrobe with the safari look. Next I will show you how to take metalllics from day to evening.
