Colleen Saringer: Bananas, Butter, Bread. If you're like me you spend a fair amount of time in here in the super market. Why not working some exercises for your lower body. Now you're checking items of your shopping list.
Try walking on your toes to strengthen your calf muscle. It's a simple exercise; you can be on behind your cart without drawing much a tension. Lift your heels off the floor and walk on your toes or alternate heel toe. Don't worry about counting your steps, simply alternate your regular walk with your toe walks as you're moving from one high isle to the next. Carrying a basket or large can good, why not do bicep curls as you are moving from one isle to the next.
Start with the basket down your side, raise it up to your shoulder and then lower back down don't walk by doing toe raises as well. Don't forget the opposite arm and remember to keep your stomach tucked in. while standing in the checkout line, do calf raises, stand in one place, raise your heels off the floor and then lower them back down.
Before those heels hit the floor, raise your body back up, just don't forget to keep your stomach tucked in. Be sure to talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise program and remember even at unexpected times, you can still fit exercise everyday. I am Colleen Saringer keeping you in the Motion Zone.
