Colleen Saringer: We're also busy these days that it's important for us to take time to relax. If you find yourself sitting in front of TV on a day, but you haven't gone to gym, don't worry there is still time to work in physical activity. Here is an idea, instead of heading to the fridge during commercial breaks, why not work your abs while you're waiting for your shoulder turn.
Lay on the floor with your knees bent and your back flat, place your hands across your chest if you're a beginner, lift your shoulders and your chest up to the ceiling and then lower them back down Try to get in at least 12 to 15, and as you get stronger you can work you way up to three sets of 12 to 15.
Here is an idea during the next break, why not work your lower back? Couch squats are the perfect exercise, stand with your feet shoulder with apart, hands on your hips, pull your stomach in and lift your chest; lower your body to the couch and then stand back up. If you can only go down half way, that's fine as well. Be sure to talk to your doctor before beginning any exercise program and remember no matter how busy you're, there is always a way to fit exercise into your day. I'm Colleen Saringer keeping you in the motion zone.
