I am Steve Terrano and welcome to this episode body performance. Lot of guys asked, “Hey Steve, I want to become stronger and then I respond with “Well you got to handle heavier weight” and they say, “Well no joke but if am not strong how can I handle the heavier weight?” Well let me give you some suggestions, when you are warming up for your work out, a lot of guys will warm up but they will ware themselves out, they will do a lots of sets there very close to the weight and then do lots of rest meaning they will bench first 135 for 10 then 145 for 10 155 for 10.
So instead of warming up they ware out so my suggestions is when you are warming up warm up with a lot of weight, do your rest but if you get to the heavier weight drop your rest. Another thing is when they get to a certain weight they do 10 reps and then they try to have your weight and say, “Gee, I cannot do this for 10 so I am not going to do that.” Well that is not being accurate, you know I was carrying 85 dumbbells and I got to the point ten, hey that is not bad, so what I did was the next time I do biceps I only did 80 for may be six or eight reps and save my strength and I went to the 85s or the 90s and got five or six reps and the pretty soon the 85 or 90s become five or six reps, six and seven reps seven and eight reps.
So pretty soon I can put 90 pounds for 8 reps now I know I can do 80 for 10, now my goal is 90 for 10 on days like through a week, I just do 80 for 10 or 80 for eight. On days I feel strong, I do the 90s for eight and now eventually I go to 95 or a 100s and that is what you need to do. Do not warm up and ware your self out, just warm up get to the heavier weight and then once you are at the heavier weight, drop your reps save your strength and try to tackle it. Love you body.
