Welcome back to the Introduction to Wikipedia Series. Do preferences allow you to do things like change the way Wikipedia appears to you and even add little gadgets to enhance your experience? You can change the skin or the look of Wikipedia. Select one and click on preview to see what it would look like. Choose what you like best and make sure you click Save to save your changes.
You can change the date and the time format here. Choose how you want to enable things like editing. Decide how many days you want to show in the history of revisions to articles. Change the preferences for articles you’re watching and even customize how Wikipedia searches for things for you. You can choose to search only for articles matching your criteria, articles talk, users, files, help, etcetera.
In miscellaneous, you can choose to have links underlined or not. Auto number headings and even have your log in remembered on your computer. Just don’t choose that option if you’re using a public computer.
There are also some gadgets you can use, you can choose to enable the navigation pop ups which will have articles pop up and you hover your mouse over a link. You can add editing gadgets and user interface gadgets which mean it enhances the way you interact with Wikipedia. These are all personal preferences so choose what you think will work best for you.
