I am Steve Terrano. Welcome to Subcenter Body Performance. Have you ever heard of this myth? You have to walk in the treadmill for about 20 minutes before you start burning fat. That is not true. You see, we burn fat all day long. We are aerobic 24 hours a day and aerobic simply means we are burning fat in the presence of oxygen. Fats are made as source of fuel when we receive enough oxygen.
The problem with jumping on the treadmill for the first 10, 15, or 20 minutes is we are burning fat but we are not just burning a lot of fat. So, after about 20 minutes the body then says “Wait a minute, this guy is not gonna get off the treadmill he is continuing to work let me release a lot of fat just in case he decides to stay for an hour”.
How do we speed this process up? Well, the game plan that are based in theories, you want to work out first, working out first clears your muscles and clears your blood stream of glucose and glycogen, the storage sugar that you use for immediate energy. So in theory, if you workout for half and hour or 45 minutes first then you jump on the treadmill, your storage of energy had been depleted so you start burning fat at a higher rate when you jump in the treadmill for the first 2,3,4,5,10, or 15 minutes. So, that is the secret, try doing that first. Work out first clearing your body of glucose and glycogen then the moment you jump on the treadmill you start burning fat.
Thanks for listening. Love you body.
