Your Day Wedding Planning

Nessa: Hello nice to meet you. You’re a wedding planner? Adeola: Yes. Nessa: You run Your Day, that’s the name of your company. Adeola: Yes. Nessa: So tell us how you’ve got into wedding planning. Adeola: I first started doing parties, private parties of friends and conferences and then I also helped planned my brother’s wedding which is great really so I started of on quite a small level and then that’s when I decided to make it a career. Now this is an Oscar dela renta dress. And I actually have the client try it recently and it’s absolutely stunning. All of these and details here I actually handmade, handcrafted then you’ve got a gorgeous sash around the middle as well. It’s absolutely beautiful. As you get a lot of detailing here and why I like it is it’s very, very elegant and it’s sort of fit that there is no age of this, it’s a timeless classic piece. Nessa: So, why weddings specifically I supposed to just parties, what is the attraction? Adeola: And there’s a lot to do when planning a wedding. It’s not just the creative aspect, it’s about being organized. It’s about being a perfectionist and it is one of the biggest days in someone’s life. So you’ve got to be extremely you know regimented and make sure that you know what you’re doing and that things don’t get mess up. And I think that’s what appeals to me. It’s to make it on the day seeing everybody happy, the bride and groom happy and you know the whole event has taking place and that’s quite rewarding. Now, this is a designed called Leila Rose, absolutely beautiful. Again this is something I would probably wear because of the color. I mean if you’ve got olive skin, a very dark skin like myself this is going to be great. Perhaps you’ve been working on the tan. This is going to be very flattering. Nessa: Have you ever had any of those brides tell us that we keep hearing about your most—? Adeola: You do get brides. For example if I’ve got a bride who changes her mind a lot that can make it difficult but I think the most important thing is to communicate. So, my communication with the bride has got to be you know a very, very calm and you know I can't try and take over but there are times and I’m like you’ve got to make a decision on this otherwise you’re not going to be able to get this venue book, you know you’re dealing around, we really need to do because you want them to make sure that they’re happy with it. Now, this is by Monique Lhuillier, absolutely beautiful. Now, this is just the bottom of the dress and as you can see here you’ve got that wonderful effect that goes all they way so quite pervasive through the bottom of the dress and then you’ve got lovely detailing and then you’ve got that too long tall and that gives it back it goes to sort of look and I absolutely adore that because of that because you’re getting some slightly different but what is particularly fantastic about this is the top part. So, you’ve got the top part here which is fantastic and again that goes about sort of phantom of the opera sort of filled to it. Nessa: So, top tips for those last minute wedding disaster because I’m sure there are plenty of those. Adeola: Well, lipstick on your dress is very simple remedy for that. You’re looking at white line of warm water and you know that will rub it off. So that’s a really good tip and pimples you wake up with a pimple two days before your wedding obviously you know there’s lots of brands out there. They simple things like toothpaste for pimple or you know make sure that you get facials two weeks prior because it’s quite stressful time and you can break out and the cake falls on the floor. I mean I know it’s funny yeah but in the situation it’s not so great. It’s really important to make contingency plans for this. Let’s say the weddings that—the receptions at four or five. The planner will make sure the cakes are there by 12 o’ clock. Once you put on that dress, you just know— Nessa: Which one is right. Adeola: Which one is right but just by looking at this, you know, you can tell by the way the sort of style and people go in in their mind that’s what I work but when it comes to actually trying on the dress, it can be anything. Nessa: So, ideal celebrity brides wedding to tan or groom so beautiful and in love with it. Adeola: Oh nice a little bit like the wedding planner wouldn’t it? I think Kate Moss, I love to organize her wedding. You know she’ll know exactly and she wear the dress with so much style. So, those are a couple of weddings you know I’d like to do.
