Hi, everyone. Welcome to another ZapCarbon Tip and this time we're in the kitchen. Basically, we are looking at this kettle over here. The kettle as you may know is one of the highest power devices in the house and typically 2000 to 3000 Watts, which is an awful lot of light bulbs basically. And what we are going to look at is an example of a bad kettle.
Just come here for a minute, what you can see there is this scale on the side of the kettle. This shows the water level and typically what you do is fill it to certain level when you're making a cup of tea. Question is, how many cups does it take to register on this level. Let's have a look. I will now fill this up and hopefully we'll see how many cups it takes one, to fill up to the level, two, no sign of it yet, three, that's the three cups already. Three cups, four, still nothing. We haven't done this before, so we don't know exactly how much it, five. Where it just begins to register that and if you can see that.
Now, at that point, you probably think well it's not much, then you just want to add another one. But even if you did it, that is five cups, five cups water here, that you are boiling, when you put it on. Now, to make probably one cup of tea. And if you are just making one cup of tea, why not just pour in one cups of the water, as long as you are covering the other ones, it's all safe, you're fine. And that way you'll save five times your carbon tea print. Anyway, end of tip.
