Hey guys, it’s me Marco from Gadget Experts. How are you guys doing? Sorry I went away from the camera. So this is the long and awaited review of the iPod Touch 2nd Generation. I know I’m very late with this review but a lot of people–put comment saying, I can’t wait for review. So here we go.
This is also of a–hopefully it’s–we had a video–I don’t know if anyone is up for something but this will be a hundredth video of YouTube and I ought to tank everybody, everyone on YouTube, supporters, subscribers and people just look the video and not subscribe. I always like to thank you guys for reviewing the content and you guys are awesome and hopefully we can reach our 1500 video and actually 200, 300, 400 will keep on doing that. So let’s get into review.
So, this first, let’s just take a look around the hardware. You can see the screen has a lot of smudges right now. I have no screen protection right now but I’ll sure be getting one with a case very soon.
This is the iPod Touch 2nd Gen, and you can see it has the chrome-finish just like the iPhone. And on the side, you have the volume rocker switch. Now the 1st Generation iPod Touch, this wasn’t there. And people requested that you need in a–external volume rocker just into the screen. So they added that, on the bottom, you have your dock connector, if we got how many pin it is but–and you also have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack.
I’ll be right back guys, my camera is about to die.
Okay. I know it was an instant change but for me, it was like a minute. So I was at–I was saying the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, and it is pretty nice to have that. On the other side, we have nothing. And on the top you got the Sleep and Awake button. Okay, on the back, it isn’t polished. Keep up for getting one that’s made of–someone comment on it and tell me. But this is a finger smudge print you know, fingerprint and magnet. And there is also a scratch magnet. I don’t know why, Apple did that but–yeah, I guess we just watch you to buy case from Apple or whatever. So you need a case for this, just to protect the back but there are so many smudges that it get on here.
And here is your little Wi-Fi you know part that–the latest part I guess if you want to call it. So I’m going to have to demo up the–my exposure, I mean it could be dark everywhere but when the–when I put on, turn on the screen, it will look crystal clear. So oops–there you go. I’m sorry about the darkness right now but see–look how clear that is on the camera. So slide to unlock.
Alright, so here is the UI, as people who don’t know that is, it’s the User Interface. Now, you might have to actually darken it one more time actually on–I’m not getting make a difference but okay. So, let me just take you to look at the main home screen okay. I got Safari, Calendar–I mean, I changed–I moved around all of this but you know it’s pretty simple just put through your things. I have two of them but I have to fill up my second page of Apps. And you can also change the little toolbar down here. I got my Music, Mail, Twitter Fon and the App Store. Let me just try a demo here. Alright, now that–there we go. Just a little bit darker and we got it.
So now our finger looks crystal clear except you know, the darkness around, everywhere except the iPod. So, it is a pretty nice and to have right now, and I can open up here Safari browser and here, I have–see, just got a YouTube. Sorry, I’m not fast at texting so I just click on YouTube. And here, you open YouTube, the homepage. While let that to upload, in a second. Cut away from my Wi-Fi network so I guess a little bit slower.
Alright, so now you can just turn it and–kicks in and there you go. Now you can zoom in, zoom out, do all of that stuff right on the Safari browser. Now Safari is the number two most used internet browser because the Firefox is the number one. Now most of you guys knew that.
So let’s open the Calendar App. And here, you have all the calendars, just click through them, add a new one. That’s pretty basic you know, a lot of things haven’t. You’ve got your–which I’m not going to open up because there is some private information.
Now, I don’t know if I’m the only iPod because I use it here–a lot of people say that if you try to watch a video on Safari, it won’t play. It plays for me, I don’t know. I don’t know if the OS update on the firmware but here’s your easy app and that opens up YouTube and here’s Shane Dustin, opened up, I don’t know why. I think my brother was playing with this.
Alright, so you got your photos. I have photos under but I deleted them because I have like couples of photos that were on my computer I just synched up. Now I don’t know, I just took a picture of the home screen. So that was pretty much useless and you can delete in all that crap. Stocks, I don’t really want to get into it because I’m not really a person of stocks. I don’t need to know about it.
Now let’s get into the Google–you know what, I’ll say goodbye from the camera a little bit because I don’t want you guys to know where I live. It doesn’t mean that I hate you guys but I just don’t want you guys to know where I live. So let me just keep back.
Okay you guys. I tried to open up Google Maps but it was not cooperating with me. So I’ll just move on.
So the next app that comes preloaded is Clock. Now I got to clock. There you go. This is the timer, now you can play round with this. It’s like a timer if you’re like cooking something. There you have the little thing that you want to play. Now that’s kind of funny, I like that one. But this is my favorite one, I don’t know why. It just sounds weird. So let’s go back in that.
I got your Weather App and now let’s see, try to open up my location. And it did so just–just like in New York, okay. I don’t live in New York. And you see that–you know that’s alright if you know where I live but you don’t have my address. So here, I live in Nashville, Tennessee. So it shows your forecast, it’s going to rain for five or four days. You got Memphis, I don’t live there. I got there a lot.
And go to Home, you got–see the Calculator, you don’t only need to see about–there you go, you got your basic calculator.
Notes, and you can any note. Remind yourself, I just did one. I don’t need to do a bit.
And you got your Settings, now you can set your Wi-Fi to fetch new data, brightness, general, music, video and all of that. You have that pretty you know–you have lots of settings to go through. Now I have some–now let me just take you to this little Apple like–it’s called Spawn, light–by the new one. Now I just like want to show you the little–this is the you know multi-touch screen and you can do–press two fingers and do all that.
What else can actually, but now I’m going to show you my mail–no I don’t. because–I will show you my mail but it will have the–so let’s take you on my Music. I only have like a couple of songs on here. I haven’t really added it. So go to albums, I have no cover or art show–it come for a look pretty plain right now.
Let’s see if I can play some Coldplay, Clocks. And this is the internal speaker that it holds–now you can go through Adds while the music is playing. So that’s pretty cool. So overall, this iPod Touch 2nd Gen is pretty, pretty awesome to have. There we go. We were back to we–right now. So this is a pretty–I know this kind of a long review, I might put it in two parts, I don’t know. But this is a pretty awesome iPod. If you want to like–go to storage and then make you know, and go towards function, I’m just saying if you go on the web, email then–and you don’t want to–via data plan for your iPhone then this is definitely the way to go and get yourself an iPod Touch. Another–of the iPod Touch or Gen but I’m pretty much not going to get one because it can be the same thing. I might have a storage upgrade but it’s not going to be like the 120 gig classics.
So if you want to sacrifice the storage and go into function and abilities to do, then the iPod Touch is your way to go. My name is Marco Hanna and thanks for watching this and all people at Gadget Experts, thank you a lot for being supporters and, thanks guys. See you.
