Sarina: Hi. I’m Sarina and you are watching Be You TV.
I’m here with Fitness Expert Amy Dixon who harnesses the power of North, South, East, West with a Full Circle workout. Hi Amy.
Amy: Hi. How are you?
Sarina: Great. How are you?
So tell us, what is Full Circle all about.
Amy: Full Circle takes into account the power of boot camp and the strength and grace of yoga. So, I came up with the workout that could combine all of these things. It’s a wonderful fusion workout that you just need your body. That’s it. You don’t need a mat, just your body weight, not even tennis shoes or socks.
Sarina: Not even weights? Nothing?
Amy: Nothing.
Sarina: Okay. Why is this so much fun?
Amy: It’s fun because it fuses together a bunch of different formats. And for someone who has a lot on their plate, I like to get into the old strength, cardio, flexibility, everything in one workout.
Sarina: This makes me want to do this.
Amy: Absolutely.
Sarina: Would you show me some Full Circle movements?
Amy: I would love to. So, Full Circle starts by facing the east. The east is about incorporating the breath and the east is about this nice and calm relaxing stretch. Point face the north, it’s about stability and knowledge in the body so it’s a little bit of balance work, a little more challenge in the lower body. My favorite move for the north is called the track star. From here, we move on to the west. The west is all about fire and creativity in the body. When we create fire, we create a heart rate that we really want to get up to so that we can burn fat and burn calories. From there, when you’re looking at the south, it’s about breathe which is a great way to keep yourself ready to rock. From here, we’ve reached the gap over to the south where it’s more about sweet relaxation in the body. So, I love the west.

Sarina: So, what does healthilicious mean to you?
Amy: Healthilicious is to me is about acceptance. And, I work with a lot of people and sometimes, all of us even in this industry are searching for something that might be beyond where we already are. And it’s more about just accepting where we are right now. And from that point, we can attain our goals. We can become the best that we could be.
