How to Use Camtasia Studio 6 Hey, You Tube. Today, I’m going to show you around Camtasia Studio 6 to get you started and to get you editing quickly. The first thing where it says add, it says Import media what that does is of course it lets you add pictures, music, videos, clips, all that stuff. So I’m just going to select image, picture. As you edit image, you want to just right click and add the timeline or you can just drag it to the video timeline. And it’s going to pop this up, say select your presets. You could customize it. I’m going to select YouTube. It has its own YouTube presets so you just click on YouTube and it’s going to be 640x480 and just click done and just going to click okay. Now you could change around. You could scroll down like that. You could do whatever you want. There’s Tracks, Zoom Impact, Quiz track and you can even cut your scene so if you want to cut this video and add text here you can click split. You just click that and it just gives you two half of them or you could just drag it again. It’s your choice. Title clips is where you type a title, so I’m going to type in “Testing.” As you add that you could change the size, font, color, you can even add your background. You can change your backgrounds. You can also add your own backgrounds so if you like your own background you can even have that and you know change the text around. Make it perfect and just click okay, just add it to the timeline. Voice Narration is where you speak of course so let’s say you want to record your voice and just click start recording. It’s going to record your voice and it’s going to tell you to save it, click finish and add it to the timeline. Recording camera of course, you just put a camera in, UBS camera and start recording. Zoom in panel, this is where I used all my software, a lot of people have been asking for me this. Every time you’re making a video and you want to show them something really important, all you have to so is add the new key frame right there. So it was like a plus sign, you click that and you just want to scroll where you want to really zoom in. So if you want to zoom in somewhere you think no one can see you just zoom in there and you click and it’s going to add a key frame on that on the video that you want to show them. And to go back you just play the video a little bit, click add another key frame and then push up back and it should go to the normal one. So as you play the video, it should look something like this. Okay, so this is what makes Camtasia Studio 6 really great with this program. Now callouts, callouts is basically you can add arrows, blur something, basically anything you want to add in the videos. Spot lights, so if you want to show something really important to everyone. You want everyone to just look at that main part. It’s just going to spot light onto that part. And you can add text. You can even add your own images if you click add and edit and you click new custom callout. You could even select your own. So it’s like this one and then you click okay, you can even add your own. So it’s going onto right here so there it is, I just added that one. You click on it and it should be somewhere. Anyway, it just works. I don’t know what’s not working right now but it does work. Transition of course fading, flipping, inserting, this is great when you’re trying to make a good video. Flip, let’s add some flips here. We just add it to those arrows. And when you play the video, it’s just going to do what you want it do so. Produce video as it’s where of course, when you think you’re done you just click next, next basically it would do whatever. Create CD Menu, you create a CD I guess. I’m not sure and basically all that stuff. Record the screen is what I’m going to be using right now. Record power point, I don’t know what that is yet and basically all this other stuff file, you can save your projects. There are tons of things here. You can go to option, you can change your key frame and all that stuff. You can even change your de-flight duration. I like to 50 second, 0.50 seconds. So this is a great editing program. It’s not the best but you know it works great so I’m pretty happy with it. Most of the thing I used here is the record the screen. Camtasia Studio 6 just got a new screen, which is really, great and it records much better and better than this. Now, a lot of people have been asking me for a water mark. That little icon that goes on my video, to do that just go to Produce Video As and what you want to do is you want to click add and edit preset. And you want to click new. You want to name your preset. So I’m just going to name it blah. Now, I usually use QuickTime Movie because it gives me high definition video but if you don’t have QuickTime installed on your computer I guess you should use Windows Media Video, click next, you have to edit. You can even change the size 640x40, this rate. Now here where it says watermark click on include watermark, check that click options. Now it’s going to ask you what kind of image you want so you just click browse and go to your videos. I’m just going to select one. So there you go and it’s going take approximately so, let me just set those right. And basically you can add it anywhere you want onto your screen. You can add in the middle, anywhere you want, so I like it to be bottom right which is really great. And then just click okay and when your video starts encoding it should show up on the videos. So just click next, next, and next and finish. And it’s going to say render in project, if you’re using QuickTime it has encode which is different. It’s going to do some other stuff.
